Malga Mare is already a beautiful destination at over 2,000 metres, set in the Val de la Mare. If you feel like going higher, the trail to Rifugio Larcher starts from here, passing waterfalls and larch woods before opening onto increasingly wide views of the Cevedale group. If you prefer a more relaxed day, you can simply stay at the malga and enjoy the scenery.
50 min from Casa Tiziana
A panoramic alpine hut above Val di Rabbi, reached through the valley’s network of mountain roads and trails. Good when you want some altitude while keeping the day focused on scenery and mountain food. In winter, you can also ride up by snowmobile: ask the hut about the transfer!

30 min from Casa Tiziana
One of Val di Sole’s best-known lakes, set in the woods above Pellizzano. You can visit it as an easy outing or reach it on foot via longer routes; in peak season check transport and parking arrangements before leaving.
An easy circular walk around Lake Pian Palù inside Stelvio National Park. About 7 km through woods, centuries-old larches and beautiful views over the lake’s emerald waters: a great choice when you want a scenic walk without a demanding day.
An alpine lake with views towards the Brenta Dolomites, reachable by several routes from Folgarida, Malghet Aut and nearby areas. One of the easiest high-altitude outings to adapt to your available time and walking level.
A high-altitude refuge in the Folgarida-Marilleva area, conveniently reached by lift and then on foot. In summer it is an easy base for panoramic walks; in winter it sits directly within the ski area.
A mountain refuge on Monte Vigo above the Folgarida-Marilleva area. In summer it is reached by a scenic high-altitude walk; in winter it becomes a natural stop during a ski day.
A Madonna di Campiglio classic: a long and demanding route through alpine lakes and the rocky Presanella landscape. It is a full-day hike requiring good fitness and should be planned for stable weather.
One of the most spectacular gateways to the Brenta Dolomites, reached at altitude by the Grostè gondola. From here you can simply enjoy the views or start hikes such as the trail towards Rifugio Tuckett.
One of the most rewarding hikes in the Cevedale area, leading to the large Careser reservoir in a wide and spectacular alpine setting. This is a proper trekking day with significant altitude and elevation gain, so good preparation and stable weather are important.
One of the easiest ways to experience real high mountains: lifts take you from Passo del Tonale to Passo Paradiso and then towards Presena, almost reaching 3,000 metres. Expect huge views over the Adamello-Presanella group and the option of short walks at altitude.
A very pleasant walk in the lower Val di Rabbi, through woods, traditional farmhouses and the Valorz stream. The waterfalls are beautiful in summer and especially striking in winter when the cold turns the valley into a small amphitheatre of ice.
A panoramic hike above Marilleva passing the two Malghet lakes before climbing to the Cross of Peace. The final section reaches a rocky ridge and requires a confident step, making this a good choice for a more demanding mountain day.
One of the major hikes of upper Val di Peio: Rifugio Vioz sits at 3,535 metres, just below the summit. It makes sense to use the gondola from Peio Fonti to Tarlenta and then the Doss dei Gembri chairlift, but a long high-altitude climb still remains. Recommended only for fit hikers and suitable weather conditions.
A panoramic walk from Passo del Tonale through high-altitude meadows to Malga Valbiolo. At the top there is also a small lake and the Marmot Village, especially suitable for families. The Valbiolo chairlift can be used to make the outing shorter.
The castle overlooking Ossana is one of the most interesting cultural visits in the valley. You can climb the tower, explore the walls with an audio guide and then walk through the village. Summer often brings events and workshops, while at Christmas Ossana becomes famous for its nativity displays.
One of the most beautiful castles in Trentino, surrounded by the apple orchards of Val di Non. It is worth visiting both for its historic interiors and furnishings and for the walls, courtyards and gardens overlooking the valley. A great alternative when you want a break from mountain activities.
A very unusual walk across the Tonale plateau, following old military roads between Forte Mero, the Strino barracks and Forte Zaccarana. The route is panoramic, with First World War remains scattered along the way. If you are interested in history, Forte Strino, the best-preserved fort in the area, is also found along the road up from Vermiglio.
A woodland trail designed especially for families, with five small houses suspended among the larch trees and games and activities along the route. It is easily reached by gondola from Peio Fonti to Tarlenta, and the full loop takes around 2-3 hours without demanding elevation gain.
If you are into mountain biking, this is the place to be. The Daolasa gondola serves the Val di Sole Bike Park, home to World Cup races. There are four downhill trails of different difficulty levels, including the legendary Black Snake. This is proper downhill riding, so skills, protection and a suitable bike are essential.
A small wildlife area of Stelvio National Park where you can see mainly deer and roe deer at close range. It lies between Peio Fonti and Peio Paese and can also be reached with a short walk, making it a nice option for families or a quieter day.
One of the most beautiful and peaceful side valleys of Val di Rabbi. The trail climbs through woods, pastures, streams and waterfalls to Malga Maleda Alta, above 2,000 metres. It is a proper hike, but the scenery easily rewards the effort.
Malé’s public swimming centre is a very convenient option for a slower day or when the weather ruins outdoor plans. It has a 25-metre pool, a relaxation pool with hydromassage and a children’s pool, all indoors.
A refuge beneath the great central walls of the Brenta Dolomites. The route from Grostè is a beautiful and relatively accessible high-altitude walk, while still taking place in genuine mountain terrain.
A large natural lake beneath the Brenta Dolomites, outside Val di Sole but close enough for a day trip. Summer access, parking and shuttle services are regulated, so check the Park website before leaving.
When snow covers the valley, snowshoeing is one of the best ways to explore it away from the ski slopes. There are easy routes through woods and traditional farmhouses, walks to alpine huts and longer high-altitude itineraries. The link includes a selection of routes and updated information: always choose according to snow conditions and your experience.
The huge ski area linking Folgarida-Marilleva, Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo entirely on skis: 156 km of slopes, 58 lifts and 4 snowparks. From Casa Tiziana you can easily enter the ski area from the Val di Sole side. If you want to explore different resorts during your stay, the SuperSkirama ski pass also covers Pejo3000 and Pontedilegno-Tonale, as well as the other resorts in the circuit.
The smallest of Val di Sole’s three ski areas, but also one of the most distinctive: 20 km of slopes and 7 lifts inside Stelvio National Park, with the cable car reaching 3,000 metres. A great alternative for a quieter ski day, with slopes for families as well as more experienced skiers.
A very varied ski area between Trentino and Lombardy, with 100 km of slopes and 30 lifts reaching the 3,000 metres of the Presena Glacier. From Passo Tonale you can ski all the way to Ponte di Legno and Temù, with a typically long season and plenty of options for snowboarding and freeriding too.
Tonale and Presena are among the most interesting freeride areas in the region, with wide high-altitude slopes and off-piste itineraries such as the famous Sgualdrina. This is real winter mountain terrain, not something to improvise. If you want to try it, go with a qualified freeride guide or instructor and the appropriate safety equipment.
If you do not want to leave the bike in the garage during winter, try a fat bike or e-fat bike on the valley’s snowy roads and trails. The very wide tyres work particularly well on packed snow and make the experience completely different from summer mountain biking. Rentals and guided experiences are also available locally.
For a different evening or a more relaxed winter day, Malé has its own ice rink with an artificial surface and skate rental. It is a good option even if you have never skated before, with public skating as well as organised activities and lessons. Check the opening times before going, as they vary during the season.
A sanctuary built on a rocky spur, made up of small stacked churches and linked to Sanzeno by the famous path cut into the rock. A very different outing from classic mountain activities and a good cultural option.
